Frequently Asked Questions
Is the redacted content truly removed or just hidden?+
Content under redaction boxes is permanently erased from the PDF data. It cannot be recovered by selecting text or viewing the PDF source.
Can I redact metadata as well?+
Use the Metadata tool to clear document properties (author, title, etc.) after applying redactions for a fully sanitised PDF.
Does redaction work on scanned PDFs?+
Yes. Redaction draws over the page regardless of whether it is a text or image PDF, so scanned documents are covered completely.
